Review of Angus (1995) by Brandon H — 19 Jul 2007
It's a teen comedy. You can't expect too much out of it. But it still delivers some good laughs. James Van Der Beek plays the high school jock who picks on Angus and because he does that gets his nose broken on several occassions.
I think it's a great portrayal of high school life for those who aren't popular. George C. Scott as the grandfather is hilarious. It seems like no one has ever seen this movie which is a shame.
It's soundtrack helps the story move a long as well, surprisingly. Angus is one of those sleeper movies. It came out, then vanished, then got played on TBS a couple times and then vanished again. I'm waiting for it to come out onto DVD though so that way I don't have to worry about ruining my tape version.
