Review of Anger Management (2003) by Harry W — 09 Mar 2013
Anger Management fails to supply Adam Sandler with a character that gets any real comedic moments, and focuses more on Jack Nicholson. And although Nicholson is funny in sucn an against-type role, since Adam Sandler is the lead he should be provided with more moments, when in actuality he only got 2 real good moments and they were both when he expressed his anger, but they were too brief, as were Morisa Tomei's scenes. He did have good line delivery though.
But Heather Graham was hilarious in her brief role, as was John C. Reilly and Woody Harrelson.
However, Anger Management failed to execute a proper plotline and becomes tedious and directionless. It also doesen't deal with the Anger Management theme properly and it's as if halfway through the writers were like "Oh wait..... He's supposed to recover. How much can we cram into the last 10 minutes? Everything and a plot twist? Ok..." and that really wasn't good.
But the inconsistent amount of laughs and performance from Jack Nicholson are enough to keep you watching, but not to make Anger Management all that memorable.
