Classic Cagney. This is the film that solidified Cagney as a classic actor of his generation. "The Public Enemy" came before it but this surpasses it. Well directed with a great story and an role by the Dead End Kids who later became the famous "Bowery Boys".
The ending is what really makes it for me though because it leaves you guessing.
