Review of Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) by Paolo K — 06 Apr 2009

I dont think there is ANYWAY Cagney can go wrong.His acting is always on the spot witht he character he's portraying and without even saying words, you know wht's going on inside the characters mind just by the look on his face.

This also stars a rather young looking Humphrey Bogart as the "baddie" in a world full of baddies.

The Cinematography is also rather superb and the little sub-plot with the media's obsession and exploitation of the bad guys and it's affect on the younger generation was quite ahead of it's time,almost predicting what the second wave would turn into.

Watch this. It has Cagney in it. Don't like James Cagney? Well you shouldnt be alive then.....but it also has Humphrey Bogart for the majority of the rest of the population. And Ann Sheridan...although I never quite understood what her deal was in this movie....she's kind of just pointless.
