Review of Angels in the Outfield (1994) by Bryant R — 19 Jan 2008
Danny Glover is one angry coach. I suppose that idea of real Angels in the outfield could be used well in a movie, but the reason for them existing here is so insanely stupid that the entire movie is just killed by it.
A dumb kid makes a wish that the Angels will win the pennant because his dipshit dad made a passing remark about how he will get back with his mom if they win. Since everyone knows that the dad isn't going to actually hold up his end of the bargain, absolutely everything that happens here is going to be pointless.
If anything, God is simply mocking at this kid and showing him that life sucks.
