Review of Angel Heart (1987) by Johnny K — 23 Oct 2008
An interesting 'voodoo noir'. Even though the ending is not as effective as I expected, the film's nourish cinematography, its atmospheric direction and the way the convoluted narrative keeps the audience guessing until it reaches its shattering climax make the film deserves a recommendation for those seeking a moody and engagingly ominous chiller.
One of Mickey Rourke's better performances before he returned to boxing for a time that screw himself up and a couple of shitty works. It's glad to see his return during the recent years.
