Tough but troubled police officer Sharon Pogue has her life saved by a mysterious stranger known only as 'Catch', and the two enter into an unbalanced relationship as Sharon finds it hard to accept how little Catch is willing to let on about himself.

I'll start by explaining that romantic dramas really don't usually do it for me; they are almost always predictable, soppy, unrealistic, and basically just an excuse for pathetic girls to have a cry at their pajama parties or whatever.

'Angel Eyes' is nothing like that. Jennifer Lopez (who I maintain is a fantastic actress) gives a outstandingly credible performance as a character that is so easy to relate to and empathise with, that this has actually become a film of comfort for me.

The attention to detail in the making of this movie is something which seems to have been overlooked, seeing as so few people have even heard of it, and considering its tight script, faultless cast, and endless rewatchability, that is a real shame.

To this day one of my favourite films ever...
