Beautiful, heartwrenching film about a son (Colin Firth), whose relationship with his father (Jim Broadbent) has always been contentious and distant, who returns to his father's side when it is discovered he is dying of cancer, to try to recapture lost time before it is too late.
It can be manipulative at times, but "When Did You Last See Your Father" is ultimately a deeply moving examination of relationships between fathers and sons, of the gaps that divide them, and the bonds that bring them together.
Simply wonderful.
