Review of And So It Goes (2014) by Maureen S — 24 Jul 2014
The only reason for a low rating might be its predictability. But I don't mind knowing where a movie is going. Yes, I am one of those older patrons this movie is targeting.
The performances are first rate, especially Diane Keaton, who would be welcome in my family any day. Michael Douglas plays the gruff, rough around the edges - but still likeable- foil to Keaton's sweet, motherly, next door neighbor.
There's just enough sexual innuendo and adult language to remind viewers this isn't Rock Hudson/Doris Day.The supporting cast does a good job as well.
While there is plenty of sentimentality it's balanced by a good dose of humor and repartee between the two main characters. A well paced film that doesn't have you checking your watch every few minutes.
