Review of ...And Justice for All (1979) by Mark M — 17 Feb 2006
This is not Al Pacino?s best film, but with films like The Godfather and Scarface on your resume, you really can?t count that against him. The film itself is an excellent courtroom drama with Al Pacino turning in his usual stellar work, as well as great supporting roles by people like Jeffrey Tambor and Jack Warden. Of course, Pacino brings an expected amount of enthusiasm, but it is Tambor who is surprising as an eccentric lawyer friend who has a few streaks of craziness. Also, Warden as a suicidal judge steals so many of the scenes. The best scene in the film, besides the incredible ending with a Pacino monologue that is as good as his other ones, is a scene where Pacino takes a ride in Warden?s helicopter, who takes is past the point of no return and sees if they can make it back with less gas than is needed. If you like Pacino, which better be everybody, go revisit this classic Pacino.
