Review of ...And God Created Woman (1956) by Marco F — 31 Jan 2010
Bold and pretty risque for its time, Vadim's showcase for the beautiful young ingenue Brigitte Bardot seems tame now, but it revolutionized cinema's attitudes toward sexuality in a big way and brought a very permissive, though perhaps exploitative, European attitude concerning femininity to American shores.
The plot is wafer thin, serving only to frame Barbot's voluptuousness against a beautiful St. Tropez setting.
