Review of Anchors Aweigh (1945) by Tom H — 29 Mar 2010
What could there possibly be not to like in a film starring two Hollywood icons, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra? Answer is, not a lot! There is some superb dancing from the effortlessly handsome Kelly, some wonderful crooning from the silver tongued Sinatra and one of Hollywoods iconic film moments where Kelly dances with an animated Jerry Mouse.
However on the minus side the storyline is a little naff and Kathryn Grayson's singing grates a bit at times. Other than that it's a great piece of golden Hollywood cinema!
