Review of Anchors Aweigh (1945) by James H — 17 May 2010
Harmless fluff with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra running around Hollywood singing and dancing while on leave from the Navy. Not really any memorable songs, but it's entertaining and easy enough to watch.
Dean Stockwell was cute, though I couldn't help picturing him saying "Here's to your fuck". Gene and Jerry dancing was fun, though those kids are extreme idiots if they actually believed that story.
Overall, it's a pretty good musical, but not Best Picture material.
