Anchorman 2 attempts to recreate the successes of Anchorman and fails. The increased length of the movie cannot mask the missed jokes, the nonsensical plot twists, the flat plot, and the movie's lack of direction.

There are definitely some good laughs, but the rest of the movie detracts from the comedic effect. Ferrell jokes about crack use during the movie; I wonder if those are inside jokes with the writers and director about their times together writing the script for this messy, chaotic attempt at a movie.
