Review of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013) by Dale A — 09 Aug 2014
The laughs are slow to begin with- it's almost as if McKay isn't trying, believing his cast can say anything and the audience will lap it up out of expectation. But once the American news satire kicks in, it's achingly hilarious.
Rehashing of old jokes don't hit the spots of the original, although the inevitable news battle is borderline incredible. It's not the classic its predecessor is, but it's a worthy enough sequel.
The boy who plays Walter Burgundy has almost perfect delivery and steals all the best lines from Ferrell in a scene where they bond over trapping a shark. And yes, there are moments where they jump it, too.
