Review of Anatomy of a Murder (1959) by Patrick M — 06 Jul 2008
What's unique about Anatomy of a Murder is that you're not exactly sure whether or not he's guilty, but you just assume so because the lawyer, James Stewart, does such a great job of having you side with him (you can't tell me you didn't side with Jefferson Smith or George Bailey).
One thing that kind of bothered me was what this movie left out. What's the best scene in just about every courtroom drama movie? The closing arguments. It's the best part in To Kill a Mockingbird and The Verdict, that's for sure.
Anatomy of a Murder had no closing arguments..
