Review of Anatomy of a Murder (1959) by Joe L — 02 Dec 2008
This is a phenomenally crafted drama that avoids almost every possible cliche of the genre. It explores morally gray areas, and the story is suitably occupied with characters who are not written as "good" or "bad".
James Stewart, as usual, is phenomenal in the lead role, providing the undoubtedly long film with the energy it needs. This is just about as close to perfect as movies get.
