Review of Anatomy of a Murder (1959) by John O — 22 Jun 2009
A sharp, witty, hip and inventive courtroom drama. Jimmy Stewart reminds us why we love him while a supporting cast of many all ahve their moment in the sun. It's surprising to see a film from 1959 deal with the subject matter of rape, while having an unusally cool score of swinging jazz music, Otto Preminger was a renovator in this sub-genre.
