Stewart again turns in a fine performance this time as a former district attorney gone part lawyer, part fisherman. The case is intricate and we may never have gotten the full truth, but the path to the end, the journey, is the point of the film.

A young George C. Scott throws his voice around as the big city prosecutor and does a good job. The film is more about the story than anything and with that said it gives a good story and an intriguing case involving rape, murder, and secrets.

A good courtroom drama made better from the witticisms of the defender (Stewart) and the prosecutor (Scott) who constantly try to foil the other and use wit and sarcasm to aid them. An intriguing film that is worth watching.
