Jimmy stewart is dead-on brilliant in the role, as is george c scott, whose role as icy prosecuting attorney is unbeatable. it presents a courtroom drama with edge and wit, but I found detractors to be the distracting jazz score, and the unlikelihood of the outcome in the end.
