Review of Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004) by Bo K — 27 Jun 2008
Not that I really anticipate a sexy cool thrill storm out of a giant snake picture (a giant snake picture sequel at that), but Anacondas semi-colon something colonic really is a joyless clone, runing completely on automatic from the first 5 minutes. There is a clear difference between 'meeting' my expectations, and simply 'being' my expectations. If someone gave the four essential keywords of this movie (snake, jungle, flower, boat) and yelled go, 90% of theater-goers could hash out the plot on paper in one quarter hour brainstorm, unless of course they tried out some creativity, and completely missed the mark. Another for the 'why even bother?' column.
Maybe I just watch too many giant snake pictures...
