Review of Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004) by Edwin L — 05 Feb 2010
Not a bad movie at all. Can't feel any B-grade in this except the not so good CGI anaconda. Action, suspense and flow of story is good. A group of scientist goes to Borneo to look for blood orchid.
It can prolong life. The boat captain Johnny Messner is a tough guy along with his partner Karl Yune. Kadee Strickland is the scientist. During the trip, they encounter unexpected weather and Matthew Marsden secretly agree to pay Johnny 50k to continue the danger route.
Later their boat went down the waterfall and crashed. All have no choice but to hike the forest to another boat. At the river, one of them got eaten by the anaconda. The rescue boat also crashed after attacked by anaconda.
They have to find a native tribe living there and hope to get a boat. Reaching there, the natives had left and they have to bulid their own boat. Matthew insist on getting to the orchids but nobody cares anymore.
Morris found out Matthew had a satallite phone all this while and he throw a poisonous spider and bit him, turn him stiff. Anaconda ate him and Matthew escapes with the boat. Kadee suggest intercept where he will be going and take back the boat.
At the site, Matthew have a gun and force them all to obey him. He knock out Johnny and ask Kadee to go over the pool of orgy anaconda to pluck the orchids. She fell on the way back and she throw the bag over to him.
He went down to pick the bag but got bitten by that spider and drops into the pool. The rest tries to save Kadee. One anaconda climb up and Eugene shoot the flare at it, drop down to the pool and explosion cause the mudslide covering them all.
The 4 of them survives.
