Review of Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004) by Marcus C — 05 Feb 2012
This film has all the basics needed to make a decent sequel... if only the original was better to begin with.
The concept behind needing to go into the jungle to find a rare plant to make medicine works. The addition of snakes to create the ultimate bloodbath, works. The acting, isn't fantastic but what truly kills this film is that the characters don't make sense. The nerdy geek of the group is the bad guy and manages to out "muscle" the entire rest of the group. At some point you'd think someone would just lay the dude out but alas, this entire group, including super muscular dudes, can't beat one guy who despite not knowing anything about the jungle, doesn't get eaten by a giant snake.
