Review of Anaconda (1997) by Paul P — 28 Mar 2015
This is a B grade horror movie that delivers on all the B grade awesomeness you could hope for.
I can't believe that an actor of Voight's caliber would sign on for this, but I'm glad he did, as he gives one of the strangest performances I can recall... He looks drunk throughout the entire film, and with a script like this one, I'd have to say he did the right thing. Another thing I can't believe is that Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson were ever cast in another movie ever again...
The snake is laughably bad, and its awfulness just adds to the campyness of this movie. The production value is just high enough and there are just enough highlights to make this an entertaining and enjoyable B movie. Also offers one of my favorite lines ever: "Des snakes out heee dis biiiig??" Thank you, Ice Cube.
