Review of An Unmarried Woman (1978) by Private U — 05 Feb 2008
It's a bit flat--I guess it's simply supposed to be a snap shot of a liberated woman going through divorce and reluctantly entering the dating scene. It's dated and filled with rather unsubtle scenes about self-discovery.
You end up wondering if Clayburgh makes the choices that she does because it'll make her happier or a better person, or if it's simply to show that a middle-aged woman can stand on her own two feet.
That being said, it's got a solid cast and is all in all watchable.
