Review of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (2005) by Molly W — 27 Dec 2006
This is just a mediocre film, but a great story. Since no one will probably ever get to rent this (Educational film), I will tell a little about the story. It takes place at Owl Creek Bridge, where a man is about to be hanged to death for his crimes.
When the noose is let down, instead of hanging him it breaks & He falls into the creek. He swims & swims till his arms are tired, he gets onto dry land & begins running, trying to make it home.
He is being chased the entire way by police & dogs. He runs across fields through the woods all the way home. As soon as he runs through his door into his wifes arms, his neck snaps. He never really got away, he had been daydreaming about what would happen had he got away.
I think this is a great story & was required reading when I was in school.
