A tragic and insightful look at the nature of death, and of life and of something in between. Features beautiful b/w cinematography with a minimalist soundtrack of only a few lines of dialogue, instead focusing on the sounds of life.
Has a real sucker punch ending that's both brilliant and devastating, and has influenced the twist endings of a couple major Hollywood films.
