There is one "negative" thing I can say about An Inconvenient Truth: the material tends to be on the dry side in the second half of the film. After all, this is a power point presentation with brief interstitials designed to move the focus away from the lecture hall and into the world.

What Al Gore does here is provide a point by point explanation about global warming and what it does to the planet. No, scratch that. He provides comparisons between past and present to use numbers to argue for his side.

Yes, there is a side and that side may be skewed since the dissenters never get their moment to refute the information. But that's not the point. Gore and director Davis Guggenheim understand this is dry material and allow the former vice president to some warmth and humor throughout the production by making jokes (both at his and the then-current presidential administration) to lighten the atmosphere.

There are some movies which pretend to want to change the world. An Inconvenient Truth wants to change the world. Literally.
