Review of An Ideal Husband (1999) by Penelope B — 23 Jun 2007
Having seen this on stage as well as the 1998 version starring Jonathan Firth as Lord Chiltern, I have to confess that this version didn't really do anything for me.
Julianne Moore wasn't as provocative as she ought to be and Cate Blanchett did a pathetic job of playing the wife of an up-and-coming politician.
Rupert Everett did his best to save the day but it wasn't enough.
Oscar Wilde is great but there are better versions than this one.
