Review of An Evening with Kevin Smith (2002) by Dan J — 10 Jan 2009
With comedy writers and actors, it's often hard to tell whether they're really funny in person, or just great at acting like it.
This movie is a series of Q&A sessions with Kevin Smith, the writer/director/actor of Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma and more. He fields questions from students in 5 American universities and does so with wit, grace and just the right mixture of erudition and dick jokes. Long, but almost constantly funny! The big man is a comedic genius, and it goes well beyond just his movies-he's the real deal in person, it seems.
