Definitely a "quiet" film, "an education" allows us to witness the abrupt transition of a rebellious girl into a sleek but unsure woman. the antiheroine, played by carey mulligan to high acclaim, manages to find herself -- but only after realizing that she'd rather act her age than play grown-up.
the film wasn't as impressive as i'd hoped, although I did appreciate the atmosphere/cinematography/score/costumes.
