Review of An Education (2009) by Adrian B — 28 Jan 2012
This movie is fantastic. The storyline, acting, directing, everything. Carey Mulligan completely deserved the Oscar nom. I would give the nomination to Peter Sarsgaard too, but in the end, I found myself questioning his choices and what his motives truly were and what his true feelings were, it was a little muddy.
Emma Thompson is fantastic in her bit role as the headmistress. and Alfred Molina as her dad was fantastic as well. The story is an exploration of how a girl comes of age in a not so normal way. As she says near the end: âI feel old, but not wise.
â? Can be a bit slow in parts, and I ended up hating the characters I liked at the beginning and loving the characters I hated at the beginning. Overall, a fantastic movie that everyone should see.
