Review of An Education (2009) by Justin V — 09 Jan 2012
Pretty good film - a little slow, though, but can be forgiven considering the strong performances here. carey mulligan is a star in the making as she portrays a teenage girl looking for more to life than just school and idiot teenage boys.
she finds more in peter sarsgaard, a 30-something man with much to offer her. alfred molina plays mulligan's father and he's just as reliable an actor as anyone. a coming of age drama, an education is more of a parable warning of the drawbacks of wanting everything at once.
