Review of An Education (2009) by Valentin G — 26 Mar 2015
It has a pretty typical and familiar plot, the characters are very unlikable and it is not particularly well directed, but an Education benefits from emotional approach, complex issues raised and a fantastic performance from Carey Mulligan who absolutely shines as the protagonist.
It is a film that is not a bit fresh, but that manages to make that familiar story relevant again thanks to fine characterization, superb acting all around and engaging, applicable conflict.
