Review of An American Werewolf in London (1981) by Martin S — 15 Jul 2010
Really god transformation effects for the time and better than any CGI transformation they would make today. not as much blood and gore as I would have liked, and the scenes with the werewolf were a little too short.
The people in the bar who know about werewolves are astoundingly unrealistic. 1) no real person would just let two tourist leave if there was a werewolf around and not help or warn them. 2) they wouldn't keep a dangerous secret like that from the world.
3) after shooting the first werewolf they should have shot David too, he would not have killed all those other people and he had to be killed sooner or later anyway. the ending was a bit abrupt and unsatisfying.
not a bad movie, but I had my hopes a little too high.
