There is a sense of fun, playfulness, honesty, and sexuality that is carried through many films of the 1980s that you just don't see now. From John Hughes movies to The Goonies to Amblin films to goofy horror flicks - there is a glee from that period that just can't be denied.
An American Werewolf in London is no exception. Anyone could pick apart this movie if they really wanted to, but its charm and sincerity are too overwhelming. This movie is funny, sexy, menacing, energetic, and light in its own way.
This is pure entertainment.
