Review of An American Werewolf in London (1981) by Hannah D — 22 Jun 2012
This is by turns frightening and quite funny. It had me hooked right from the start with scenes of the bleak landscape of the Brecon Beacons in Wales and thereafter really held my attention with its sharp script.
I particularly enjoyed the brief romance between David and the beautiful Nurse Price, played by a youthful Jenny Agutter, and the shots of London gave it a nice homely feel. The special effects were very impressive, considering it was made more than 30 years ago without the aid of the new-fangled technology we have come to expect in the 21st century.
