Review of An American Werewolf in London (1981) by John A — 08 Oct 2014
The real standout here is the oft spoken about transformation scene, which still sizzles today. The rest of the film is hit and miss. Many seem to appreciate it for its combination of humor and horror, but I felt that on a number of occasions the humor pulled us out of what might have otherwise been a compelling and disturbing horror film.
I still enjoyed it overall, but I still think there's a great modern-day werewolf film to be made.
