I love the turn of the century, late-1800s ambiance throughout. The animation was pretty old school, but I admired how dark and gritty some parts of the movie were. The way they portrayed cats was so fearsome it was almost like anti-cat propaganda.
However, I found the rich mouse with the speech impediment quite annoying. I also hated most of the musical numbers and found them quite boring and obnoxious.
The story altogether was kind of boring but I enjoyed watching it. It's interesting to watch an animated feature that is blatantly about Jewish people and immigrants.
