Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Philip O — 14 Aug 2008
An American in Paris started out great with fantastic music and dancing and then progressively got worse with the unrealistically portrayed story, culminating into a presuming ending. Luckily, it didn't plummet too far into the bin of grand-scale trash, so it's still worth watching.
You could skip this film though, and not miss much, so it might be better instead to watch the film that very obviously influenced Minnelli and Kelly: The Red Shoes.
