Review of An American in Paris (1951) by Joel A — 19 Oct 2011
When it comes to splashy Musicals nobody knew the business like MGM Studios. They just knew how to make those Technicolor masterpieces.
The plot in this film isn't it's strongest suit but look and style and effort gone into the choreography is incredible. I've never found Gene Kelly to be anything more than a great dancer but he definitely one of the best dancers the screen ever had.
Leslie Caron (the love interest) was just watchable but the real gem in the film is the final dance sequence it was incredible...
