Review of An American Haunting (2005) by Jason D — 28 Dec 2008
An American Haunting is another telling of the infamous Bell family and the haunting presence that was in their house, haunting the family, eventually causing the death of one of the family members. This documented haunting has inspired several horror movies out there and it was only a matter of time before it was decently told on film, however, most of the thrills are minimal causing a slightly dull film that never really captured my interest until the last 30 minutes or so.
Donald Sutherland is probably the best performance of this film as the Bell father, but overall, everyone else is forgettable. So-so film.
