A truly disturbing story taken from trial transcripts....
An American Crime should have been as brilliant as Sybil. The story was just waiting to be filmed. The writing and directing slow this film and move it from brilliance to mediocre. Outside of Ellen Page, the acting was truly horrendous. 3 stars only because this is a story which needed to be told.
