Review of An American Crime (2007) by Taylor H — 16 Sep 2008
I liked this film somewhat. The acting was good, but that was really all it has going for it. I was expecting something more and was a little disappointed. The story was too slow for me and a little anticlimactic.
I was wanting more raw human emotion from Keener and Page, not to mention better writing in order to give the actors that ability, the two of them could have performed the darker characters perfectly had they been given the chance.
This film was the perfect place to really show the darker, more evil side of what humans are capable of doing to each other, but instead they tamed it down to the point where it was kind of boring at times.
Hence, why I was disappointed. I'm sure the real life events were not that tame...
