A very powerful and disturbing film based on a true story that occured in 1965. Catherine Keener was great as a cruel, abusive and disturbed struggling mother and caretaker. Ellen Page was fantastic as the abuse victim.
The film isn't for everybody because of it's content, but it's so powerful it can affect you after watching it.
