Review of An American Crime (2007) by Cyn N — 29 Jun 2011
If you grew up poor and was 10 years old, as I was, when this true life event occurred, you'd appreciate the brilliance of this flick. Absolutely believable script, so suspend any disbelief y'all. Take it from a gal who got the tee-shirt having been born in '56 and raised in single-motherville. Kudos to the director! Well done and should be done. White kids had their own kind of Mississippi for lack of a better metaphor; sure as hell wasn't all "A Christmas Story.".
I don't know how this passed my radar. ANd the title is apropos as well.
