Review of Amusement (2008) by Rich R — 04 Sep 2009
There never seemed a more promising horror film than this one. That creepy as night movie poster with that uniquely haunting clown hanging with it's head tilted over drew me in. This review is going to be short, because I can't remember anything that happened in this movie. Why? Because you've seen everything in this film before. It is bland, but it does have a few creepy moments if you're truly afraid of clowns. However, don't be fooled like I was by the creepy clown, he makes a guest appearance in the film. I was beyond let down by this. The gore that they did show was entirely cartoonish, although it was graphic enough to be entertaining. I'm not praising my own script-writing, but I saw sooo many opportunities for this movie to grow and add fear to itself. This was an obvious crankout production for a quick buck.
Summary gripes: terrible story, predictable, misleading movie cover, nothing clown-like about it.
Summary perks: some creepy moments if you immerse yourself, somewhat gorey, yeah that'll do it.
