We all know Haneke doesn't do lightweight. Amour is a bleakly beautiful and fiercely honest depiction of genuine love at its most profound, compassionate, devastating and utterly unsentimental. This is no cheapskate weepie, this is a crushing work of art that earns every tear you shed.
One of the greatest thesis on human existence ever committed to screen.
