Review of Amour (2012) by Adam B — 04 Feb 2013
Now this is film making. A movie that takes the universal themes of love, life, and death, telling an honest, simple story, with such elegance and subtlety. It's the long camera shots which show a characters emotions change over time.
It is the short scenes with no dialogue, showing an electric bed being assembled, or using a motorized wheelchair for the first time, which can tell more in 10 seconds, and more interestingly, than a thousand words could.
It is the ACTING! Oh my god, you forget that these are actors and not members of your own family. I could go on and on, but please, if you appreciate the fine art of film making, this is a must see.
