Review of Amour (2012) by Nefert M — 13 Jul 2013
This is my first film review.
I became a big fan of Michael Haneke after watching only one of his other films: Funny Games. So, after hearing of this, his next film, I immediately wanted to watch it but I had to wait for some time until I finally got to watch it.
Amour is easily one of the best films of 2012. I have it placed on my #4 favorite film of 2012.
Reviews can't exactly spoil it as you know how it ends in the first five minutes but the thing is, the ending is not what matters; it's all the experience, the journey. The film is hard to watch as well as thought-provoking meaning it's not for everyone. The subtitles are probably enough to prevent people from wanting to watch it which is sad because it's a great film. It's wonderfully acted and has an impressive script which I read before watching the movie.
